The Writing Experience
The retreat combines practical workshops and creative exercises designed to help you explore new ideas and develop your writing.

There will be time to work independently, whether you're beginning a new story or developing something you've already started.
The aim is to provide a relaxed and supportive environment where you can experiment, build confidence and make progress at your own pace.
New surroundings bring fresh perspectives, unexpected ideas and stories waiting to be told.There's more to the week than writing. Set in the beautiful countryside of Southern France, near Cordes-sur-Ciel, the retreat offers time to relax, explore and enjoy the surrounding area.
Discover historic towns and villages, some dating back to the 13th century, and enjoy local excursions, including a visit to a donkey sanctuary where inspiration might come from unexpected places. There will also be time to enjoy the local food and wines, and experience a little of life in this beautiful part of France.

Retreat Details-
Our first retreat is planned for October, with exact dates to be announced shortly.
The retreat will run for seven nights, from Saturday to Saturday.

The retreat takes place at La Borie Grande, near the medieval town of Cordes-sur-Ciel in Southern France.
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and historic villages, it's a peaceful setting for a week of writing.

Seven nights' accommodation at La Borie Grande are included in private rooms, along with daily brunch and dinner.
Further details about the accommodation and facilities will be provided ahead of the retreat.

The week will include practical creative writing workshops, exercises, discussions and individual feedback.
There will also be opportunities to engage and learn from experienced authors whilst spending time to develop your own writing.

Travel to and from the retreat is not included in the price.
Guests will need to make their own travel arrangements to Cordes-Vindrac on the day the retreat begins. Further arrival information will be provided before the retreat or provided on request.

Having made Southern France his home, Simon Constable is looking forward to welcoming fellow writers to the region for his first creative writing retreat.An award-winning author and journalist with over two decades of experience, Simon has written for publications including The Wall Street Journal, TIME and Fortune. He also holds a master's degree in Creative Writing from Edinburgh Napier University.
The retreat brings together his enthusiasm for creative writing, his experience as a published author and his appreciation for this beautiful part of France.
