Meet the Tutor

David Llewellyn graduated with Honours from the University of Wales, Cardiff in 1990. Since then, he has worked as an Arts Administrator for Academi and for The Arts Council of Wales. He moved from Cardiff to his native Pembrokeshire in 1995 and worked as a lecturer for Carmarthen College of Technology and Art, The Workers Educational Association and Aberystwyth University. His subjects were Welsh History, Victorian History, Classics, English Literature and, mainly, Creative Writing. He also tutored creative writing groups in Haverfordwest, Fishguard and Cardigan. In addition to weekly sessions, the groups met four times a year for a day school at which a visiting writer attended as a joint tutor. David Llewellyn has appeared as guest tutor at two creative writing day schools hosted by Cambrensis magazine. He also appeared as a guest on the panel of BBC 2's Late Books.

David Llewellyn moved with his family to France in February, 2003 and held a successful creative writing day school in May of the same year. He was subsequently invited as guest tutor for a creative writing group in Eymet.

Several of his short stories, poems, articles and reviews have appeared in various magazines and periodicals, including Poetry Wales, Cambrensis and Wales on Sunday. His memoir Waiting for the Big Red Bus has recently been completed and he is currently working on a novel.
